Big data, big impact. Accelerating the UK’s AI revolution

Data matters. That’s why we’re helping accelerate the data centre revolution to support the UK’s ambition to become a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI). Set to grow by 10–20% per year, the UK’s data centre industry is vital to economic growth and innovation and technology leadership – and we’re helping make it happen.

Data centres are more than big sheds full of whirring servers. They’re the foundation of our digital economy. That’s why we’re committed to getting data centres built.

We do this by supporting project development from early-stage vision building and stakeholder engagement through to consenting and construction. We build long-term trust and shared value by including communities from the start.

Vantage

Copper is guiding the UK’s fastest-growing data centre developers through planning and construction, at a time when public understanding of digital infrastructure remains low and opposition to it is substantial.

Data centres provide an opportunity for the UK to become a global competitor in the growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI). Copper supports 148 MW of Vantage Data Centers’ current 220-MW UK portfolio to supply the UK with the infrastructure to fuel an AI-powered future. Copper supports Vantage Data Centers’ engagement with local communities and its efforts to secure political advocacy to ensure smoother delivery, while positioning Vantage as a leader in powering the UK’s digital future.

Gravity

Delivering strategic communications is essential to securing site selection for its £4 billion gigafactory in Somerset, UK. Copper is developing the “Take Charge” campaign, which effectively maps and showcases the South West’s economic and innovation ecosystem, highlighting its true social value potential. Copper’s messaging is distributed through digital channels and the media, raising significant awareness about the region’s crucial role in the UK’s electrification and advanced battery manufacturing activities. Collaborating with key stakeholders, Copper also distributed a community update to 24,000 residents, ensuring widespread understanding and support for the UK’s largest gigafactory.

GreenScale

GreenScale’s vision is clear: to develop data centres that will benefit the grid, the energy ecosystem, customers, communities and the digital economy. Having acquired the Atlantic Hub in 2024, GreenScale sought to deliver social value ambitions for its new Foyle Port site in Northern Ireland. As an extended member of the team, Copper uses insights to inform and articulate GreenScale’s net-positive contribution, highlighting the project’s social, economic and environmental factors. Copper will undertake community engagement initiatives during the 2026 construction period, informing stakeholders of key project milestones. Using a tailored messaging framework, we demonstrated GreenScale’s positive impact, reflecting its vision.
