Bringing together forward-thinking leaders

We will host a series of events across the UK and Ireland and will bring together forward-thinking leaders committed to driving progress, fostering collaboration, and helping shape the conversations that will drive us to achieve ambitious goals.

The 2030 Collective’s name reflects a pivotal moment on the horizon, as the year 2030 marks:

  • the UK’s clean power target
  • the end of the business plan cycle for water businesses
  • a key milestone for housing and infrastructure expansion
  • a turning point in the transition to electric vehicles

We want this to be an inclusive community and welcome ideas for how we can evolve.

Thursday 8th October, The Engagement Showcase 2026

Join us for an exploration of the good, the bad and the ugly from infrastructure engagement.

From AI empowered protest groups and image fails to effective participatory engagement and social value strategies that actually deliver real-world impact.

Hear from people across industry as they share 6-minute case studies from water, energy, data centres and more.

This fast-paced showcase will uncover what innovative engagement truly looks like, what a compelling vision sounds like, and how to reach those infamous seldom-heard groups.

Previous events

London – June 2026

“Crisis Comms in the Age of AI Panel”

It was great to see our community of communications leaders come together to share ideas and experiences on such an important topic. We explored how AI is being used to attack, to defend, and what the future holds.

With speakers from Equinor, Anglian Water Services and Ark Data Centres, our discussion highlighted that AI will undoubtedly bring challenges in the years ahead, but it also offers a great opportunity for the sector to innovate and adapt.

We spoke about how the future of AI is exciting, but it also holds concern, particularly for young people searching for a route into a career. We have a responsibility to ensure we deploy AI carefully while creating further positive impacts through our work.

Cardiff – June 2026

With the Senedd election results still front of mind, our conversations couldn’t have come at a more important time.

Together, we explored what the new Welsh Government’s emerging priorities might mean for our sector and how communications leaders can:

  • Help shape the narrative
  • Get ahead of early political signals
  • Support strategic planning for project delivery

What stood out was the openness in the room and a real willingness to share challenges, exchange ideas and think collaboratively about what comes next.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a valuable evening.

Glasgow – April 2026

At our latest 2030 Collective lunch in Glasgow, one message was crystal clear: infrastructure delivery now lives or dies on community confidence. Not jargon. Not policy. Real‑world impact on jobs, bills, reliability and place.

With major energy and infrastructure projects stretching beyond political cycles, the demand is simple – be bold, be credible, and put communities at the heart of delivery.

The challenge is meeting reality with clarity and confidence.
