Challenge
As Ørsted progressed the development of Hornsea 3 – set to become the world’s largest offshore wind farm – clear, consistent and community-sensitive engagement was essential. With a demographically older, affluent local population and increasing scrutiny of large-scale energy infrastructure, the project required tailored, proactive communication and genuine social value delivery to maintain public trust and stakeholder confidence.
Approach
Copper played a central role in stakeholder engagement and social value delivery by:
- acting as the communication bridge between Ørsted, the principal contractor, and the community
- creating and distributing monthly briefing packs to keep stakeholders informed
- establishing and managing a community liaison group to reflect local priorities
- driving local economic participation through careers fairs and supply-chain engagement events
- attending major regional events such as the Norfolk Show to increase visibility
- Measuring community impact through a bespoke social value tool.
