Bridging the information gap on major road infrastructure projects
We have a proven history of helping clients deliver nationally important highway projects that are essential for connecting communities, driving economic growth and enhancing overall quality of life.
We address stakeholder concerns and deliver meaningful social value by championing local community initiatives
We actively engage communities, businesses and key stakeholders to shape opinion, foster strong advocacy and trust, and build robust support for highway projects.
Our work on active travel schemes drives forward much-needed improvements for communities up and down the country, enhancing public health, boosting local economies and promoting social equity.
The narratives we create engage audiences and improve understanding around the benefits of highway projects, which are a vital part of improving the country’s infrastructure. We are proud to have supported the recently refurbished A13 River Lea Crossing, which carries an estimated 40 million vehicles annually. The refurbishment will provide improved access to healthcare, education and employment opportunities locally and regionally.
Lower Thames Crossing
The Lower Thames Crossing represents the largest highways investment in a generation, connecting Kent, Thurrock and Essex via a tunnel beneath the River Thames. Copper delivered a digital-first statutory consultation, met tight deadlines and articulated the benefits of over 300 design changes informed by stakeholder feedback. By enhancing the project narrative and translating complex technical language into accessible content, the team ensured public engagement and met all legal requirements. The outcome: improved stakeholder understanding, a user-friendly consultation experience and clear communication of the project’s transformative benefits for the local, regional and national economy.

Canning Town A13 bridge upgrade
The Canning Town A13 bridge upgrade tackled the A13, London’s second busiest road, which carries around 40 million vehicles annually. With transparent, community-focused engagement, the Copper team worked to unite two boroughs and several councils, businesses and residents, throughout the £14 million refurbishment. A proactive approach fostered trust, minimised disruption and built long-term relationships for future Transport for London projects. As a result, the upgrade was completed on time, delivering enhanced safety and reliability for millions of road users. The project stands as a model for impactful, community-led infrastructure projects, strengthening both the road network and its surrounding communities.

A417 Missing Link
The A417 Missing Link project is a landscape-led transformation of a three-mile single-lane stretch in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The National Highways project aims to improve safety, ease congestion, support the economy and reduce air pollution. Copper engaged with a diverse range of stakeholders, many with conflicting interests. By developing tailored engagement plans for each group, running value management workshops and establishing open communication channels, the Copper team built trusted relationships and hosted collaborative design sessions, securing statements of common ground 18 months early. Our proactive approach led to numerous scheme improvements, setting a new benchmark for inclusive infrastructure consultation.
