Challenge
UK Research and Innovation’s Faraday Battery Challenge approached Copper to assess its existing communications and strengthen stakeholder engagement. With future public funding at stake, the challenge needed a clear, insight-driven strategy to raise its profile across industry, government and new audiences, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SME).
Approach
Copper delivered a comprehensive communications audit, which included:
- conducting stakeholder interviews across the Faraday Battery Challenge, the Faraday Institution and the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre to understand perceptions, expectations and pain points
- auditing digital and social media channels to identify strengths, gaps and optimisation opportunities
- developing an integrated, data-led communications strategy targeting new and existing audiences
- creating tailored recommendations to increase visibility, improve engagement and mitigate reputational risks
- supporting a major industry conference with the development of a high-impact case study brochure and targeted media relations around key government funding announcements.
Value delivered
- Produced an actionable communications audit and engagement strategy aligned with future funding ambitions
- Strengthened Faraday’s digital presence through targeted platform recommendations
- Positioned the challenge more effectively among key stakeholders, including SMEs and government partners
- Enhanced visibility at a key industry event through strategic collateral and media amplification of funding milestones
