On Thursday 19 January, Copper’s Managing Director Linda Taylor spoke at CPT Events’ ‘Inaugural Infrastructure Conference’ on the role of communications for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects in London.
Linda argued that the consultation process is generally understood by promoters but it is sometimes viewed as an expensive tick box exercise. If approached as one piece in the communications jigsaw alongside engagement, it makes commercial sense by helping to align stakeholders, reduce project delays and unnecessary costs.
She also issued a challenge to the audience of infrastructure and property professionals to think beyond the consent milestone and to consider project development in the round, taking account of the societal value of projects from the outset and communicating infrastructure projects in a way that relates to what matters to us all in our daily lives.
