On Monday 14 December, the Government published its long-awaited Energy White Paper. It builds on the PM’s recent ten point plan for a green industrial revolution and sets out the Government’s plan to ‘unleash a green economic recovery’ across the UK. It includes the creation of a new Ministerial Delivery Group to oversee the expansion of renewable power and produce ‘fit for purpose’ planning and environmental guidelines, as well as an ambition to designate an updated National Policy Statement by the end of 2021.
