Natalyn Ala, Strategy Director for Major Projects at Copper Consultancy, has recently been appointed to the Geological Society of London’s editorial advisory board for its fellowship magazine, Geoscientist. It is distributed to its academic and industrial society fellowship across 84 countries.

The Geological Society is the UK’s professional body for Earth science and has a worldwide membership of about 12,500. Founded in 1807, it is the oldest geological society in the world.

Today, it is a world-leading communicator of Earth science – through its scholarly publishing, library and information services, cutting-edge scientific conferences, education activities and outreach to the general public. It also provides impartial scientific information and evidence to support policy-making and public debate about the challenges facing humanity. Natalyn’s unique blend of skill and experience will provide a valuable contribution to the widely-reputed geoscience magazine.

Natalyn said, “I am delighted to have been appointed to the Geological Society’s Editorial Advisory Board. Being on the Board combines both my scientific and commercial knowledge, practically applying these skills to improve how geoscience is communicated.

“I look forward to supporting the Geological Society and the Board, while continuing to work on some of the biggest infrastructure and development projects in the country.”
