Copper says the Northern Energy Taskforce has an opportunity to put the public at the heart of a long-term strategy for energy infrastructure development in the north, by developing a clear narrative that explains the huge potential benefits to the region.
The Taskforce has been set up through the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) to create an energy strategy for the Northern Powerhouse. Responding to a call for evidence, Copper explains how our Attitudes to Infrastructure survey showed people support new energy development, but want to see leadership and long–term planning – and to be involved in helping to shape future proposals.
