As a part of Mental Health Awareness Week (14 – 20 May), a 17-strong team from LM (Laing O’Rourke and J Murphy & Sons) will cycle 140 miles over two days in aid of Laing O’Rourke’s company-wide Hearts and Minds campaign. The campaign, which supports The British Heart Foundation and Mind, aims to raise awareness of the benefits of exercise on physical and mental health.
Copper’s Sam Cranston and Ryan West will be saddling up to support our client, and joining the ride which covers Phase One of HS2 from London Euston to the site of the new Curzon Street Station in Birmingham.
The event forms part of Laing O’Rourke’s wider effort to cycle 21,000 miles, by road, in the gym or even in the office, in one week – which is the distance between its UK HQ in Dartford and Australian HQ in Sydney…and back!
As well as donating Sam and Ryan to the worthwhile challenge, Copper is helping to ensure the team make it to Birmingham by providing essential supplies of water, snacks and a kilo of flapjacks.
If you would like to join the cause, donations to the Hearts and Minds Cycle Challenge are welcome. All donations will be split equally between the British Heart Foundation and Mind.
