Copper’s Chairman, Claire Gordon, has been appointed to the Advisory Council for Action Research on Major Projects at The Bartlett, University College London.

The ‘Action Research on Major Projects’ framework was set up to look at a fresh approach to the delivery of major projects.

Some of the world’s most complex challenges are being addressed by novel and fast-moving technologies, and through multi-national, multi-agency, multi-million pound projects.  Such extraordinary challenges require extraordinary project leadership.

To guide and support the research team’s work, being led by leadership specialist and researcher, Sue Pritchard, the Advisory Council brings authoritative and diverse perspectives and experiences. It helps shape the research agenda, focusing on relevant issues, emerging themes and lessons learned and, most importantly, the practical impact they have on improving practice in delivering major and complex projects.

Commenting on her invitation to join the Council, Claire Gordon said, “I am delighted to be joining the Advisory Council and look forward to sharing experiences of major projects. Communications and stakeholder engagement are strategic components of delivery and this particular focus gives us an ‘outside looking in’ perspective of project leadership and management.”
